The Love Story
Every bedtime, I sing to my daughter the song “Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so” many times (as long as it takes her to fall asleep). But I eventually started singing, “Jesus loves you; this I know for the Bible tells me so”. Even though she can’t quite understand, I sing this for her because I want her to know this. I want her to know who Jesus is and how much he loves and wants her.
Then it occurred to me I must be ready to explain this to her when she asks one day. Maybe she will ask, “where does the bible say this, mom?” And I will share with her some Bible verses that taught me how much God loves me.
Dear Danielle,
The Bible tells us that God loves us so very much.
God created you in his image (Genesis 1:27). He knitted you together in my womb (Psalm 139:13). Knitting gives the idea of the processing being so meticulous and careful. He knows you in and out and before and after (Psalm 139:1). His thoughts are precious towards you (Psalm 139:17). He made a way just for you to come to him, sending his son to die for you (1 John 4:10). The Bible tells us that this is love that he would lay down his life for us. God is love, so it is his very nature to love us (1 John 4:16). Even when we do so much wrong, he still makes a way for us and waits patiently for us. The story of the Bible tells us about how much he loves all of us. Humans keep making mistakes, and God forgives them and takes them back (Hosea). He is longsuffering towards us because he does not want us to perish (2 Peter 3:9). The Bible may seem strange at first, but it is just a long love story of God loving his people even when they do not deserve it. This is love.

Greater love has no man than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
Thank God for loving us with such love. Blessings Vani for this exhortation. I promise to also teach her about the love of God
Amen and grateful to have your help in this.
