A Grateful Reminder
Psalm 100
1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
I think this little Psalm says it all. It reminds us to be grateful that he has made us and we are his. Give Him praise and thanks, for he is good. It’s a wonderful reminder to praise and thank Him often and consistently. We need this reminder because it is too easy to drift away from the truth that he is good to us. We can become complacent like we see so many examples in the Bible.
When things are good, it is easy to forget that God is there, blessing and protecting us. So let us not be a people who only run to God when things go badly but let us be a people that call upon his name daily and praise him often.
