John 14-16

Jesus told his disciples:

  1. not to be troubled but to believe in God.
  2. That he will go to prepare a place, but he will be back for them.
  3. That he was in the Father and the Father was in him.
  4. to believe in the work that he had done.
  5. to keep his commandments which show that they love him.
  6. That the Father will give them the Spirit to help them, teach them and bring all things to remembrance.
  7. That he will not leave them as orphans but will come to them.
  8. That he gave his peace to them.
  9. That they are clean because of the words he had spoken to them
  10. To love one another as He have loved them
  11. He chose them.

Then after he had said all these things he said:

I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away. (John 16:1).

When I read this statement, I thought it was quite interesting that Jesus said this. He specially told them that these things were told to them so that they would not fall away. It implies that there is need to be aware that we can fall away. We know how easy it is to fall away from Jesus. So I leave this with you to meditate and make sure that you do now fall away.

Were you blessed? Feel free to share that blessing with others
