Give it all to the Lord
The Bible tells us that God does not give us a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7), yet still, we find ourselves being afraid. The Psalmist tells us to give our burdens to the Lord. Psalm 55 tells us to pour out our hearts to him. He says to call, and the Lord will answer. He says the Lord will sustain us and save us.
Psalm 55:16-19
16But I call to God,
and the Lord will save me.
17 Evening and morning and at noon
I utter my complaint and moan,
and he hears my voice.
18 He redeems my soul in safety
from the battle that I wage,
for many are arrayed against me.
19 God will give ear and humble them,
he who is enthroned from of old, Selah
because they do not change
and do not fear God.
Psalm 55:22-23
22 Cast your burden on the Lord,
and he will sustain you;
he will never permit
the righteous to be moved.
23 But you, O God, will cast them down
into the pit of destruction;
men of blood and treachery
shall not live out half their days.
But I will trust in you.
It is common for us to have fears about so many things, but this Psalm reminds me that we can give it all to the Lord. This is what we need, a constant reminder that God is here for us. He hears us, fights for us, saves us, and loves us. I think this is why we need to constantly read the word of God and spend that time talking to him. We need that reminder from his word to trust him and allow him to comfort and rescue us. He is more than able, but this is a truth we often push to the back of our minds. But we need it to be at the forefront, especially when that fear grips us. So read the Psalms and the other books of the Bible and keep reading it; we need it. It is fuel for our souls.
Read the word continuously.
