Rejoice in Tribulation
Romans 5:1-5
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
We are supposed to glory (boast, rejoice) in tribulation and that tribulation worketh (accomplishes, achieves) patience. This expectation that we are to rejoice and boast when we are in tribulation is quite a heavy one.
I was learning this in bible study from my pastor and thought I just had to share it.
The Bible gives us many accounts of people going through tribulations.
But many of them failed to glory in it.
My pastor said their tribulations may not have benefited them, but they have benefited someone. It benefits us today.
It benefits anyone who chooses to read it, study and meditate on it.
I thought that this was so true and it is so amazing. All those tribulations did not happen in vain. It benefited so many already, and it still benefits and will continue to benefit many. The past tribulations continue to produce endless patience. It is just for us to choose to take it. How do we take it? We ask Holy Spirit to teach us as we read and study His word. Only through God can we empathise with someone else’s tribulation to the point where we can patiently experience our own.
It’s one thing to benefit from patience from other people’s tribulations but another to benefit from our tribulations. The verse above applies where we need to glory in it (i.e. rejoice), knowing that God is there with us, allowing this to happen for a good reason. This is not easy, but it’s what God calls us to do. We are called to learn that we must see it as an opportunity to rejoice and benefit from the patience that it produces.
Then after we have overcome that tribulation, we must pass that patience on by sharing our testimonies. We need to share it as much as we get an opportunity so that tribulation can continue to achieve patience and benefit others.
So I leave this with you to read and meditate on that verse, and hopefully, when we see it in this light and experience our next tribulation, we will rejoice and boast in it a bit easier.
Thank You, Pastor Marlon 😊

I approve this message.
Thank you Vani for this exhortation.
It’s a hard saying however it’s what God requires us to do; rejoice in our tribulations.
May God continue to bless you both
