Willing Servants
Leviticus 20:1-5
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not: Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.
The excerpt from Leviticus tells us that God hated child sacrifice. He hated it so much that he even promised to cut off anyone who knew someone who did this and did nothing about it. But before this, God called Abraham to sacrifice his son. The Bible tells us that Abraham was willing to give his son to God. He was going to sacrifice him to God, but God did not allow him to do this. It was a test, and Abraham passed.
When we read this account, we wonder how Abraham could do this and whether we could do this if God asked us. But when you read the Bible, you realise that child sacrifice to false gods was normal back then. So maybe that’s why it was not strange to Abraham for God to ask this.
But the amazing thing I noted was that God hated child sacrifice, but he used this to show that this is not what he wants. He called Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, but God saved Isaac at the last minute, showing that He does not want child sacrifice. He wants us to be willing to give it all to him. We should not hold back anything from God.
When he calls us to give what he has given to us to bless others, we should be able to do so freely and willingly. He is the one that blessed us, and he will bless us again. He is the one that takes care of us. And what a privilege he has given us and called us to be his workforce to bless others. What a privilege! The best job we could ever have is working for the most high God. So let us be willing servants.

Thank you Vani!
In the story of Abraham what stood out most to me was Abraham’s obedience to God even if it meant giving up his son. God wants our whole hearted obedience in all areas of our lives.
Blessings to you!
Let us be willing Servants.
Well said Vani. Thanks
