It’s all about..
We often hear people say ‘It’s all about God,” but I have been pondering on this. Does God want us to make it all about Him, and what does the Bible tell us?
In the beginning, God lovingly created us and gave us everything we could ever need. He gave us food, beauty in nature and love. He gave us freedom of choice. He gave us Himself in his spirit and companionship. (Genesis 1). All of this says that for Him, it was all about us.
Even after man fell, he made a way for us to get back up and come back to him. When Cain killed his brother, for God, it was about Abel’s split blood, but he was also compassionate towards Cain.
God brought the flood because he cared about the future of humanity. He called Abraham because he was the beginning of a plan to save all people. God used Joseph to save many people from famine. He sent Moses to rescue the Israelites because he cared for them. Even when they disobeyed him, he loved them. The Bible gives us many accounts of God caring for his people. He has made it all about us.
We, the people of God, are called to gather together and fellowship. We eat together, and we pray together. We are called to be united (1 Corinthians 1:10; 1 John 1:7). We are called to bear with each other and carry each other’s burdens (Colossians 3:13; Galatians 6:2).
So what does he want for us? We should put God first in all that we do. When we recognise how much he loves us, we should be compelled to give him the glory for all that is good in our lives. But when you look at what the Bible tells us, God made it all about his people, and we should do the same. We need to care for all people and love them with God’s love, just as he does. We need to care for the people of God and also the potential people of God. We need to love each other. This is his heart. He wants to reconcile in new relationship with all people, and we are a part of that plan. We need to reciprocate the love we have seen in God and show it to the world in the hope that they will come to Him. So let’s put God first in all that we do and make it all about the people of this world.
It’s all about them [heart].

Amen!
This is awesome and revolutionary. When you think about, our words do shape our behavior. “It’s all about God” mentality often causes us to pull away from people rather than run to them. We ignore people, we push people away. We say things like God is the only important thing or person in my life. O how wrong we have been. We forget that we cannot love God whom we have never seen while not loving the people we see every day. Thank you Vani. Keep up the excellent work.
